Services

Copies of Accident and Incident Reports may be requested through our office and are generally available ten (10) business days from the date of the event. Copies may only be issued when requested via the involved insurance agency, the involved person, or by way of the executor of the will. There is a fee for copies and you should call in advance when requesting a copy. Copies must be picked up from our office, unless requested by the insurance agency. You may also obtain a copy of an Accident Report by going online to www.crashdocs.org and entering your report number issued by the responding Deputy.

To obtain a copy of an incident or accident report, complete our Incident/Accident Form.

Juvenile Reports must be requested through, and are issued from, Department of Juvenile Services at 410-632-0206.

To make a request under the Public Information Act, complete our PIA Form.

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office offers the 4-hour certification course as part of the State of Maryland's requirements implemented to purchase a handgun. The following persons are exempt from being required to obtain this certification:

  • Members of the US Armed Forces, including Reserve and National Guard.
  • Honorably discharged members of the US Armed Forces.
  • Active & retired duty law enforcement in good standing.
  • Persons who lawfully owned a regulated firearm prior to October 1, 2013.
  • Persons who have completed a Maryland Hunter Safety Course.
  • Persons who have completed a Certified Firearms Training Course approved by the Secretary of Public Safety.
  • An employee of an armored car company that has a permit issued under Title 5, Subtitle 3 of the Public Safety Article

 

The use of the Worcester County Firing Range is open to the public every Saturday, with the exception of certain holiday weekends and weather related closures.  The public hours are from 8am-12pm.  The cost is $5.00 per person.  Targets are provided and we ask that you bring ear and eye protection with you.  We offer both pistol and rifle lanes.

The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office has implemented the Trespassing Enforcement Authorization Program (T.E.A.P.) which grants permission to the Sheriff’s Office to act on behalf of Worcester County property owners addressing trespassing violations on private property. Partnering with local businesses in Worcester County to enhance the safety of local businesses and address problems that occur on private property during closed hours.

If you are a business in Worcester County and would like to sign up for this program, contact the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Community Services Section.  You will need to fully complete and notarize two forms, the Agent Authorization and Right of Entry Agreement and Release & Indemnification.  Upon completion the original forms need to be mailed or dropped off to the Sheriff’s Office.
